For Teens

In-Person - Gender Inclusive

High School Social Anxiety Group

This in-person group helps high school students build confidence in social situations, communicate more effectively, strengthen self-advocacy, and develop positive relationships. Through discussion, activities, and real-life practice, participants will learn practical CBT, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and coping strategies for managing social anxiety and navigating interactions. No formal diagnosis is required, and all high school students are welcome.

High School Girls Group

This group gives high school girls a welcoming space to talk about challenges that may be affecting their happiness, confidence, or success. Participants will learn practical CBT strategies, ACT strategies, mindfulness and coping skills, goal-setting and problem-solving techniques, emotion regulation skills, and ways to strengthen self-esteem and self-care while connecting with peers who may be navigating similar experiences.

Virtual: Gender Inclusive

Calm Under Pressure: The Teen Stress Toolkit

This virtual five-week group helps teens better understand and manage stress through practical, body-based strategies. Participants will practice breathwork, stretching, somatic exercises, mindfulness, and other nervous system regulation tools while building greater awareness of how stress affects their thoughts, emotions, and bodies. This is an active, psychoeducational group and is not group therapy.

Parent And Child

For Adults

Virtual: Adults

S.P.A.C.E. Group for Parents

This group teaches parents practical tools for responding to children and teens experiencing anxiety, OCD, or related challenges. Using the evidence-based SPACE approach, parents will learn how to provide supportive responses, reduce family accommodations that may unintentionally reinforce anxiety, communicate confidence in their child’s ability to cope, and create meaningful changes at home. Children do not attend the group.

Healing After Pet Loss

Support Group

This virtual support group provides a compassionate space for adults grieving the loss of a beloved pet. Participants can connect with others who understand the significance of pet loss, share their experiences without judgment, and learn coping strategies for navigating grief, adjusting to life after loss, and honoring the bond they shared with their pet.

"Sandwich Generation"

Support Group

This virtual support group provides a welcoming space for adults balancing the demands of raising children while caring for aging parents or other family members. Participants can connect with others facing similar pressures, discuss caregiver stress, changing family roles, boundaries, guilt, and burnout, and learn practical strategies for coping, communicating needs, and caring for themselves while caring for others.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Groups

Do I need to be a current PRN Counseling client?

No. You do not need to be a current therapy client to participate in most PRN Counseling groups or workshops. Most of our clinical groups may require a brief consultation or intake before registration.
 

Are groups considered therapy?

It depends on the program. Some offerings are psychotherapy groups, while others are psychoeducational workshops or skill-building programs. Each program description explains its format and what participants can expect.
 

Are groups covered by insurance?

PRN Counseling is an out-of-network practice. Coverage depends on the program and your individual plan.

Psychoeducational groups and workshops are generally not eligible for insurance reimbursement. Psychotherapy groups may be eligible for reimbursement. Contact your insurance company to ask about out-of-network group therapy benefits. 
 

How do I register for a group or workshop?

Select the program that interests you and contact us for instructions. We will schedule a brief phone consultation and determine whether or not an intake is required.
