WOMEN'S MENTAL HEALTH

Are You Tired of Everyone Dismissing Your Concerns?

Are you constantly feeling overwhelmed, stressed, exhausted, burnt out, or just sick of it all? Do you feel like medical professionals just tell you to exercise, lower your stress level, or lose weight? Do you spend most of your time judging yourself or experiencing guilt or shame?

Perhaps you are feeling lonely and you don't understand why you can't maintain friendships or relationships? Do you want to make a change in your life but you can't manage to move forward?

When one has lived with anxiety, depression or low self-esteem most of their life, they can consider it to just be a fact of their existence. This does not need to be the case. With the proper mental health support, negative feelings don't need to be in control.

Being a woman brings a different set of challenges. Our society makes it nearly impossible to meet standards and ideals.

To paraphrase the Barbie Movie "It is literally impossible to be a woman...we have to always be extraordinary, but somehow we're always doing it wrong... you have to be thin, but not too thin... You have to lead, but you can't squash other people's ideas... always stand out and always be grateful... You have to never get old, never be rude, never show off, never be selfish, never fall down, never fail, never show fear, never get out of line. It's too hard! It's too contradictory...And it turns out in fact that not only are you doing everything wrong, but also everything is your fault. I'm just so tired of watching myself and every single other woman tie herself into knots so that people will like us."

Special note to moms: We know how difficult it can be to raise a child. We support moms to be, postpartum moms, moms who have lost a child, moms who's babies have 4 legs and moms to bonus children. Our clients appreciate that many of our clinicians are moms ourselves and have first-hand experience birthing and raising children. As mothers, it's easy to put the needs of others above our own. We want to work with you to recognize ways to balance both attending to your needs while caring for others.

Hear Me Roar...

We want to help our clients feel more empowered and more "like themselves" again. Let us help you to straighten that tiara, brush yourself off and thrive.

Attune to the Waves of Change

Our clinicians use an eclectic mix of CBT, mindfulness strategies, attachment theories, coaching, emotion regulation skills, problem solving skills and other therapeutic techniques depending on your specific needs. We can help you to better recognize patterns, understand your thought process, how your body responds to stressors, and recognize how your behavior is impacted by these factors in an effort to more confidently ride the waves of life and manage change with ease.

Our clients express that they feel at ease after working through concerns in therapy. Many of our clients report that our clinicians have helped them more than past therapists and appreciate that we are more action-based.

We believe that you can learn to love yourself, appreciate all that you do, and treat yourself as if you were your own best friend.

Aren't You Just Going to Sit and Listen?

Don't you deserve to have someone truly listen to you? To hear what you are experiencing and to understand your frustrations and hurts? You deserve the same love and compassion that you would give to a friend, child, your partner, or your family member. The therapy space is an opportunity for you to have a sounding board, without judgment and an entire 55 minutes to feel felt.

A spa treatment, massage, or exercise class can give you temporary relief, but the next day, you can find yourself feeling awful all over again. Dedicating that same hour to mental health with a trained psychotherapist can lead to long lasting growth by examining the origins of the concern, the repeated actions that are leading to frustration, and determine more effective ways to manage and cope in order to create long lasting growth.
